This year I graduated with a Bachelor of Fine Arts from Texas State University, majoring in theatre with a minor in mathematics. I have been fortunate to train in acting at Texas State, which is in the top 1% of BFA programs in the country; the Royal Shakespeare Company, The Globe Theatre, and Yale University's Summer Conservatory. I think of myself as a lifelong student, and I am thrilled to share my joy in learning with students all over the U.S., thanks to the Internet.
I cover both "sides" of the brain - I teach classes in theatre, including voice acting, theatre games, Shakespeare, text analysis, resume workshops, and audition workshops; and I am also an experienced math tutor in subjects up to and including Differential Equations. I was a Supplemental Instructor at my university for four semesters, specializing in Differential Equations, as well as a private tutor for students at various levels of high school math. I have noticed that lots of people run into a mental block with math because it has a reputation as a difficult subject, but I think that anyone can be a "math person"! The most rewarding moments are when students I work with say things like, "Wow, that wasn't so hard after all." When I'm not telling stories or solving equations, I also enjoy singing, watercolor painting, learning to code, and baking gluten-free desserts.
