This class is for learners that have been through a handwriting curriculum and need continued practice with handwriting. While I do review and correct letter formation,  I focus more on line placement, letter size, and spacing in words and phrases in this class. If your child needs step by step instruction for each letter pleas look for my Fun Themes class for younger learners. 

I use Handwriting Without Tears and the Size Matters Handwriting Program as my basis for all of my classes. I keep my classes structured  but relaxed.  I try to create a comfortable environment where my students are not afraid to make mistakes, where we can cheer each other on, and where we can laugh together. Handwriting is a complicated skill and it is my goal for it to be fun. 

Each week, we will begin with a simple hand warmup using a rubberband or hair tie that fits snuggly around the student’s wrist. 

A different topic will be discussed such as holidays, seasons, animals, etc. and we will write vocabulary related to the theme while interacting with each other through games and activities.  

We will use as many uppercase and lowercase letters of the alphabet as possible. 

5 minutes-Hand warm-ups and hellos
5 minutes-Introduce and discuss the theme of the week
20 minutes-Handwriting practice
