このクラスで学べること
This is a semester class that can be taken as a Before or After School Spanish program. This is a great class for kids that had minimum or zero exposure to Spanish. I will provide a workbook in pdf so students can use it and keep it at home.
We will meet for 8 weeks and review 4-5 new words through pictures, gestures, cues, games, etc. All students will be able to participate and complete different worksheets or online games to reinforce the vocabulary learned in class.
This Enrichment Club for Beginners PART 1 will cover the following topics:
Week 1
- Greetings: Como te llamas?, Como estas? (What's your name? How are you?)
- Pronouns: El / Ella / Este / Esta (He /She/It)
- Mini-story
Week 2
- Adjectives: pequeño, grande, gordo, flaco (big, small, fat, skinny)
- Nouns: pez, gato, muchacho, muchacha
- Numbers 1-20
Week 3 & 4
- Intro to Foods
- Intro to: Me gusta... (I like...)
- Verb: To eat
- Mini-story
Week 5 & 6
- Intro to Wh question: Cuántos hay? Hay... (How many are there? There are...)
- Colors Review
- Mini-stories
Week 7
- Continue with Wh question:
¿Cuántos hay? Hay______.
¿Te gusta_______?
- Verbs Review
- Intro to some Farm Animals: horse, sheep, rabbit, and pig.

As an experienced Spanish Teacher, I follow the TPRS Method (Teaching Proficiency through Reading and Storytelling). TPRS lessons are a mixture of reading, storytelling, games and repetition. This methodology motivates and prepares students to trust themselves speaking, reading and understanding a foreign language. In addition, I use a lot of visual aids (power-point presentation, e-books, interactive games) during the class. This helps my students follow the session and reinforces the new vocabulary.学習到達目標

Hola Niños! My name is Jackie. I was born and raised in Perú. Now, I live in Virginia with my family. I hold a B.S. in HR Management and I'm a Certified Interpreter/Translator for the Winchester Public Schools and local hospital. In addition, I'm TEFL certified and I have been a Spanish Teacher since 2004. My first experience as a teacher was in a regular classroom setting but since 2016, I have become a Virtual Spanish Instructor. Online platforms allow me to reach out to students from all over the World. I enjoy preparing my students try their first words in a foreign language. At the beginning they can be very hesitant but little by little, I help them build their confidence and speak in full sentences. Teaching my language is a very rewarding experience! 😃Therefore, I have designed Online Spanish lessons for Beginners, Mid and Advanced students so my little and big learners can keep taking as many classes as they want. Your children can take One-Time lessons, Multi-Day classes, Ongoing Conversational sessions and / or participate in Book Readings, Spanish Camps or Semester Spanish Classes!

My teaching philosophy is learning while having FUN and presenting the material in small pieces. I keep my classes small (1-8 students max.) and we do a lot repetition. My goal is for students to internalize the vocabulary so they can use it in their daily routines.
