Students, with teacher guidance, will solve logic puzzles by using their reading comprehension skills, deductive reasoning, and the visual representation on a grid. In class, we will solve some basic logic puzzles together as a group. I will ask for volunteers to read each clue (no one is required to read to the group). We then will discuss each clue and how it relates to the items in the grid. We must use our reading and listening comprehension skills to determine what each clue means. By learning how to solve basic logic puzzles, students can then advance to more complex logic puzzles. It is a fun, life-long hobby. This class is for 11 and 12 year olds. If your child is younger, I highly recommend "Logic Puzzles and Beyond!" for 8 to 10 year olds. I have a relaxed, fun teaching style. We will work as a group but participants can observe if they are not comfortable participating in the discussion.
学習到達目標
Students will learn to solve logic puzzles and the concepts behind the clues. I'll also introduce them to a variety of other puzzles. I hope to inspire them to try new challenges. These puzzles are great hobbies to keep kids busy and will engage their brain.

教師の専門知識と資格
I have a master's degree in School Psychology. I've worked as a School Psychologist with kids ages 3 - 18 in public and parochial schools for over 21 years. I've worked with students who struggle with learning and who have behavioral and mental health needs.
I've also been an online teacher for over four years, teaching English to students in China and other parts of the world. I'm familiar with the convenience and limitations of the online learning experience. I encourage discussion in my classroom.
If you have an idea for a class you'd like me to teach, please share it with me. I'm very excited to be working with Outschool!
