このクラスで学べること
In this class, I will teach students how to understand and apply the basics of algebra. Many students struggle with math because their foundation in algebra is very shaky through no fault of their own. Many teachers who effortlessly understand math do not have the gift of simply breaking it down so students can understand it.
I have also seen public school systems quickly fly through this information. This class will thoroughly cover the data at a pace that gives a student's brain...By the end of this class, students will know the following information: - Order of Operations. - Distribution. - Algebraic Expressions - Substitution and Elimination. - How to work word problems using algebraic formulas. - Percentages. - Inequalities. - Absolute Value. - Functions. - Graphing. - Factoring Trinomials.
I have taught Algebra 1 and 2, Geometry, Trigonometry, and other math classes in high school settings. I have also taught statistics and quantitative reasoning to college students. I have a degree in math and science, and I am going to MSU for my third degree in education. I have taught math for years and have seen what works and doesn't work for students.
I will use my notes, lesson plans, worksheets, and tests for this class.
