Who is ready to get moving? Music and movement classes are one of many ways to teach children body control while they get to play! In this music and movement class, we will be learning new songs, dancing, following instructions, dressing up, developing coordination and most importantly, having SO much fun! We will use music from the Frozen soundtrack as well as other age appropriate songs. Class will start with a song that allows students to introduce themselves to each other. The class will be based off the Frozen soundtrack and we will enter the kingdom of Arendale using our imagination and dance moves. Through out the class, students will have multiple opportunities to interact with each other and show off some fun dance moves. Class will follow a schedule that looks something like this: 5 minutes- introduction song 5 minutes- learning/reviewing new songs 15 minutes- Dancing, singing, moving 5 minutes- Free style dancing and showing off/teaching new moves to each other. This class is perfect for preschool and kindergarten aged learners. It provides basic classroom structure, opportunities to follow rules, take turns, listen and engage with others, but most importantly it allows children a creative space and opens a door to learning through movement and music. While it is not required, dressing up is welcomed. I will be dressing up as Elsa and would love to see other creative costumes-frozen related or not. I can’t wait to see your learner there!

This class, while very moderate still involves movement and physical activity. Children should bring water to class to be sure they stay hydrated. An open area for playing is also important. Parents should supervise children during class to be sure they don’t get hurt. Shoes are not required, but if your child would like to wear them, I recommend sturdy, flat shoes that can be danced in with out increasing the risk of injury.
Remember, this class is VERY moderate and these are just precautionary measures. Hope to see you soon!

Hi! My name is Whitney Anderson and one of my biggest hobbies is teaching! I am excited to share some of my passions with your learner and help them discover their own passions! I graduated from Utah State University with a degree in child development. Along with child development, I studied human and family services as well as political science. I have been teaching kids ages 0-12 for 5 years and most recently, I specifically worked to develop preschool curriculum. Teaching and exploring the world are two of my favorite things that go hand and hand and I can’t wait to share this with your learner!
I am excited to teach science, literacy, music and movement, arts and crafts, sewing and dance along with some other subjects here and there! I love creating and hope to help inspire your creative learners to think outside the box and find their own ways to change the world.
I believe that the passion of a subject can’t outweigh the passion of teaching. Through my years of experience I have developed a love for helping young people grow. I believe that the subject is important, but if the material isn’t delivered correctly it won’t be as influential. I try to teach in an engaging manor that encourages children to grasp on to the material and not only learn it, but love it.
While I've spent most of my career working with children, I also have a strong passion for politics. I studied political science in college and continue to study it today and have a strong passion for helping others understand the way government works.
In my spare time I love hanging out with my husband and kids and adventuring with them! I love music and concerts. If I had one pop culture wish, it would be for ABBA to get back together and put on a concert that I could go to. I also enjoying spending time with friends and loved ones and most of all, teaching my kids! レビュー
