This is part 1 of my beginner self-paced classes. In this course, students will be introduced to the basics of French but it can be taken after the other two classes (Toy Adventure and Wild Time).

This self-paced class is perfect for those who have busy schedules and have difficulty committing to a class that meets at the same time every week. As stated above, there are no live meetings for self-paced classes. 

Ready for some Monster Fun? In this course, learners will learn the basics of French with a fun monster theme. Every lesson, there will be a new topic that we will be taught and funny monsters will be a part of the learning experience. 

What you will get when you enrol in this course:
- Learners will watch a video (made by me) where I will introduce and teach the topic of the week. 
- A handout will also be provided that can be used during or after watching the lesson. 
- There will be an activity of the week (drawing, quiz, games). I will sometimes utilize Nearpod.
- Students will engage with me by commenting or reacting to my weekly posts. Students will also be able to send in their completed worksheets so that I can review them and give feedback. 
- At the end of the seven weeks, I will send each learner a video with feedback on their progress and pronunciation. 
- I will also provide extra videos that learners can watch and games that they can play at home. 

Lesson 1: Greetings and Introductions
Learners will submit a video introducing themselves. 
Sentence frame: Je m'appelle ______.

Lesson 2: Numbers
Learners will learn to count to 10 and say how old they are using the target sentence. 
Sentence frame: J'ai _____ ans. 

Lesson 3: Colours
Learners will learn create a funny person/monster using different colours. They will also learn to say what their favourite colour is. 
Sentence frame: Ma couleur prérérée est le _____.

Lesson 4: I like/I don't like
Learners will learn to say what they like and don't like by reacting to videos and pictures. 
Sentence frame: J'aime ____. Je n'aime pas______.

Lesson 5: Feelings
Learners will learn to identify different feelings. There will be a matching game that students will get to play. I will send them a picture or short video in the classroom and students will have to identify the feeling while using the target sentence frame. 
Sentence frame: Je suis ______.

Lesson 6: Family
Learners will learn to identify family members.
Sentence frame: J'ai ____, ___, et _____. 

Lesson 7: All about me
Learners will use everything they have learned during these 7 weeks to introduce and talk about themselves in a video. 

Throughout the seven weeks, learners will revisit vocabulary that was taught in previous weeks to optimize retention.
