フランス語 1. Prisma の Kim による 1 年間の初心者向けフランス語クラスの第 3 サイクル。

In this Cycle we will build on the basic words and phrases students learned in Cycle 1 and 2. We work through a range of conversations that will enable you to communicate with sympathetic native French speakers and expand our vocabulary. I will introduce the passé composé and the immediate future tenses. The students will use and recognise these tenses in conversation and in writing. This Cycle we will also focus on the Paris Olympic Games, which will take place this summer.

12th March. Week 1. Talking about how we travel places. Asking for tickets to travel and to get into attractions.
Homework: Decide how you are going to travel to Paris this summer. Fill in the conversation asking for tickets.

19th March. Week 2. Les fêtes en France, including Poisson d’Avril. Que’est-ce tu tu vas faire pendant Spring Break/Les vacances de Printemps? We will look at how to talk about the things that we are going to do,
Homework: using the sheets provided, write down 3 things inn French that you are going to do during Spring Break.

25th March. Spring Break.

2nd April. Week 3. Quest-ce tu as fait pendant les vacances de Printemps? We will look at how to talk about the things that we have done. 
Homework: Write down 3 things in French that you did during Spring Break. In English, comment if you do the things you hoped to do? 

9th April. Week 4. We will also look at the French words for places in town. Learn to ask for and understand directions. Practise how to ask for bread, snacks and drinks.
Homework: Practise the vocabulary we learned in class.

16th April. Week 5. En ville. A visit to the town of Confolens, in the Charente region. I will walk around the town and we can look at the buildings.
Homework: Answer a quiz about Confolens. Record 2 things that were very different from where you live. Is there anything that is the same/similar?

23rd April. Week 6. Les Jeux Olympiques. The history. The sports. Where they are taking place this year. What sports do you play or like to watch. 
The Project will be an interview in French between you and your favourite Olympian. You will ask each other the basic questions (Name, age etc) and 2 other questions – 1 about favourite sports and 1 about favourite foods.
Homework - Find information on your favourite Olympian (from any country) and their sport. Be prepared to answer questions in French as if you are this person in class next week.

30th April. Week 7. Q&A in French as your Olympian. Students talk about their sport. Rest of the class comment if they like/dislike playing/watching the sport.
Homework: Work on your Project Presentation.

7th May. Week 8. More sports vocabulary.
1:1 sessions to check how the Projects are going.
Homework: Work on your Project Presentation.

14th May. Week 9. Our class Olympic Games. Medals are on offer!! 
Homework: Complete your Projects for presentation next week.

21st May. Week 10. Presentations. We will play some games if time.
