This class will start off with introductions and any relevant background information needed to complete the tasks in the escape room. Students will then work as a team (either with the whole class or in small groups in breakout rooms on Zoom, depending upon the size of the class) to find clues and solve them using introductory level forensic science. Students will have to use critical thinking skills to determine the real clues from the "red herrings", but even the "red herrings" will be...
Students will learn some introductory forensic science skills including: fingerprint types impressions blood type hair and fibers forgery and writing analysis Students will have the opportunity to practice working together as a team, using critical thinking skills to solve problems, and communicating with one another.
Students will benefit from having paper and a pen/pencil to take notes and keep track of their clues as they go.

The Forensic Science series of classes that I teach will sometimes include information about actual case studies and crimes, which could include violent crimes. I will attempt to present all information in an age-sensitive and respectful manner.
