Class 1: Students learn about types of exceptionalities, ableism, and psychological tests (and their validity). Students are assigned to teams (team Charlie and Team Algernon) and perform psychological tests (mazes and inkblots). Note: I am not a psychologist and these tests are purely for fun, not for diagnosis purposes. Homework: Read Short Story (pgs. 351-365; progress report 1-April 27) Class 2: Quick Reading Quiz. Discuss characters, key vocab, play comprehension game, discuss ethics of science, paragraph writing practice, evidence study. Charlie Before Chart. Homework: Read pgs 366-378 (end) Class 3: Quick Reading Quiz. Discuss and complete Charlie After, comprehension/analysis questions, changes in Charlie's writing, tone, and theme. Character tweets activity.
