In this exciting 4-week class students will be immersed in the exciting world of flipbook animations!  In this "back to basics" approach students will learn the secrets of 3 types of animation techniques as they create instructor lead animations (weeks 1-3) and work toward creating and developing their own original concepts as their final animation (4th week)!  

Week 1: Straight Ahead animation (the most natural way to animate lots of spontaneity)
Week 2: Pose to Pose animation (more planning involved!)
Week 3: Combination of Straight Ahead and Pose to Pose (the best of both worlds!)
Week 4: Create your own animation using your preferred techniques (students will apply what they've learned in class in the creation of their own personalized animations!)

This is a high-energy, dynamic learning environment.  Students will be encouraged to participate in class, not only by sharing their animations but by asking questions, providing feedback to fellow learners, and sharing ideas for future animations!

In the first 3 weeks of class, the students will follow along with the instructor's lead, through step-by-step animations.  Each week the learners will be encouraged to put their own personalized "twist" on the class animation.  For the final week of class, students will be asked to come up with their own animation outside of class (the only homework for this course) and share their animations on the final day of class.  Both instructor and students will provide feedback to each learn and long with ideas of how to continue developing their animation skills. 

This class requires no prior experience with animation or drawing, just a strong desire to learn and grow!  The instructor lead animations will be kept simple to accommodate all levels of learners.  As learners grow in confidence they will be encouraged to add additional elements to the animations to personalize the experience and showcase their individuality.
