このクラスで学べること

This course is aimed at any young person considering a career as a pilot. Using STEM based subjects this 16-week program looks at the various elements needed to become a private or commercial pilot. It explains why Maths, Physics and English are essential subjects for a would be pilot and gives the student a taste of the workload encountered before, during and after a flight. Using flight simulation scenarios in a typical real-world training aircraft (a Cessna 172) the course shows how these subjects are relevant to flying and the skills and knowledge required by the pilot to control a modern aircraft. By exploring subjects such as wing structure, the principles of lift and drag, centre of gravity, weight and atmospheric variations, together with other related aviation matters, the goal is to encourage students to excel in school to achieve their ambitions to become a pilot.

The videos will contain the information required to give students a good understanding of each topic, and each one will include homework for the students to undertake during the week. Homework assignments will include writing a list of topics, interests, and areas of expertise in which the students might be interested in developing.
