In this flex-class format, students will delve into the foundational grammar symbols of the Montessori curriculum. Over the course, they will explore the intricacies of articles, nouns, adjectives, verbs, and adverbs. Each week, students will engage with a comprehensive video lesson elucidating the specific grammar symbol or part of speech for that week, accompanied by a brief comprehension quiz via Nearpod to confirm understanding.

Following the video and quiz, students will embark on practical application exercises. They will analyze 10 sentences, identifying the part of speech for each word and illustrating the corresponding grammar symbols above them. Moreover, students will craft five original sentences, applying their newfound knowledge of grammar symbols, and share these creations within the classroom environment.

Leveraging Nearpod's collaborative platform, students will collaborate on compiling word lists for each grammar symbol/part of speech. For instance, during the week dedicated to adjectives, students might collectively generate words like "big," "small," or "slimy." These word lists serve not only as a collaborative effort but also as a valuable resource for constructing their own sentences, fostering a deeper understanding of grammar concepts in practical contexts.
