In this 4-week flex course, students will learn how to write a 5 paragraph essay/story. I will share 2 videos explaining and giving examples of good writing practices. Students will have writing homework that will be graded. Week 1: Students will watch a video explaining how good writing should look. Homework: I will write 3 sentences about a picture (I will post a picture) and students make those 3 sentences better (fix grammar, spelling, and make them more interesting to the reader). Turn in homework to me and I will grade and return it to the student. Week 2: Students will watch a video about 3 writing topics to choose from. In the video, I will pick a topic for myself and demonstrate the introduction paragraph. Homework: Students will be required to write an introduction and 2 body paragraphs about one of three topics. Turn in homework to me and I will grade and return it to the student. Week 3: Homework: Students will make corrections on their introduction and 2 body paragraphs as well as write their 3rd body paragraph and conclusion paragraph. Turn in homework to me and I will grade and return it to the student. Week 4: Students will watch a video about creating a quiz for an essay story. Homework: Students will create a quiz for their essay story. Turn in homework to me and I will grade and return it to the student.

I am an elementary school counselor with 18 years of experience. I also teach on other online platforms - VIPKID, Cambly, and Zebra English. During my school counseling career, I've taught many topics in classrooms including self-esteem, coping skills, anger management, social skills, and more. I've also had the pleasure of running clubs based on topics of dinosaurs, unicorns, math, writing, and much more! Being able to share my interests with my students is a luxury!
In Outschool, some of the classes I plan on teaching will include topics on dinosaurs, unicorns, self-esteem, mindfulness, relaxation, coping skills, anger management, social skills, K-2nd grade math, and writing. I truly enjoy teaching these topics and look forward to working with your student!
My teaching style is interactive and learner-focused. I often use power points, stories I've written, discussions, and games in my lessons! I believe that teaching should not only help students learn about the topic being taught but that it should also be engaging and fun!
In my free time, I enjoy hiking, reading, playing with my son and our dog, exercising, and traveling. I believe life is meant to be lived and enjoyed to the fullest!レビュー
