Hello! *This is a flexible schedule course. There are no live meetings. *Students will need to make videos of themselves. Some videos will only be viewed by teacher for feedback, some videos will be shared with the class (all shared videos are OPTIONAL) If your student does not want to share a video, they do not have to. *Students will be able to show and share with other students some of the assignments (optional). Students will receive weekly lessons. Students may need to access YouTube.com Class schedule: Week 1: Alphabet/ Fingerspelling Day 1: Video lesson: The alphabet Students will learn the alphabet. Day 2: Rules for double letters Day 3: Video Lesson: Fingerspelling Spelling your name, learning about sign names Day 4: Spell something around the house. Show us what you found by spelling it. Classmates get to guess what your spelling. Day 5: Test your “Eye-Q” by watching me sign a few words and writing them down. Week 2: Greeting & Introductions Day 1: Video lesson: Basic greetings Day 2: Video lesson: Introduction signs Day 3: Watch two people interact as they meet for the first time. Answer a few questions, Day 4: Video lesson: “I am from” Day 5: Upload a video with basic greeting, introduction and where you are from (can be made up for safety reasons) Week 3: Emotions Day 1: Video lesson: Emotion Signs Day 2: Video lesson: Story Students will watch as I tell them a story using vocabulary they have previously learned. Students will answer questions. Conjugating verbs & Personal pronouns in simple sentences Day 3: Video Lesson: More Emotions Day 4: Video lesson: Story Students will watch as I tell them a story using vocabulary they have previously learned. Students will answer questions. Week 4: Day 1: Video lesson: Family Day 2: Video lesson: I will tell you about my family and pets, tell me what you learned Day 3: Pets Vocabulary Day 4: You share your family and pets. Comment on a peers video. See you in the next class!

Greetings!
My name is Myra Coria. My passions in life are American Sign Language, Spanish and English. Besides teaching, I also enjoy playing tennis and drinking coffee. I am thrilled to share my knowledge about these subjects with you and your student.
I began learning sign language at the age of 14. So, I know the importance of getting started at a young age! I learned by interpreting for parents at an Atlanta school for the Deaf. I interpreted from Sign Language to Spanish and I was fascinated by the language and deaf culture every time I went to class. From there, I was determined to become a teacher for the deaf.
I graduated from Valdosta State University with a Bachelors of Science in Special Education and a Master’s in Special Education with a concentration in Deaf Education.
I taught 6th grade, 7th grade, 8th grade, and special education/Deaf education in public school for several years. I taught Spanish in high school at a private school. I also did homebound education for a few years (teaching at hospitals and homes for sick students). I have been a learning specialist for students with disabilities for five years.
Teaching languages for me is personal. I believe languages are bridges for all the cultures.

Private classes:
There are no refund for missed classes, but time can be added to future classes. For example, if you miss 25 minutes those will be added back to your class through the semester.
Group classes:
Refunds available if you reach out to me *before* class.
After class it is difficult for me to go into the system to refund you, however class can be made up, or I can see you after the next class.
