In this class, students will learn the fundamentals of financial literacy, including budgeting, saving, earning money, investing, and managing financial challenges. They will create and work towards personal financial goals over the course of 17 weeks. How Is Your Class Structured? The class is structured into 17 weeks with two lessons per week. Each week focuses on specific topics, with lessons divided into interactive segments and practical exercises. The course is designed to be progressive, building on concepts from previous lessons to enhance understanding and application. How Will You Teach? Teaching methods include a mix of lectures, visual aids (charts and infographics), interactive activities, and practical exercises. Lessons will incorporate hands-on projects, group discussions, and real-world scenarios to make concepts relatable and actionable. What’s Your Teaching Style? My teaching style is engaging, supportive, and student-centered. I focus on making learning accessible and enjoyable through clear explanations, encouragement, and responsiveness to individual needs. I emphasize practical application and hands-on learning to reinforce concepts. How Much Will Learners Get to Interact with You? Students will interact with me through: Lectures: Brief, focused explanations of key concepts. Games and Activities: Engaging activities and simulations to practice financial skills. Slides and Visual Aids: Visual support to illustrate and reinforce learning. Video Clips: Relevant videos to demonstrate real-world applications. 13 Years Teaching Experience: Extensive experience teaching children from ages 0 to 18 in various subjects, including ELA, STEM, and financial literacy components.
10 Years in Classroom Settings: Practical experience in physical classroom environments, providing a solid foundation for creating engaging and effective lessons.
Experience in ESL Instruction: Several years of teaching English as a Second Language, demonstrating the ability to explain complex concepts in a clear and accessible way.
Relevant Certifications:
120-Hour TESOL Certification: Training in teaching English and related skills, which enhances the ability to communicate financial concepts effectively to diverse learners.
