This is an exciting and fun class that is centered around figurative language. Each week, learners will discuss two figurative language types and see a variety of examples. Then learners will write a sentence of their own with an illustration that provides a visual to reflect an understanding of the figurative language. I will show the learners examples via power point slides and discussion. This class is very interactive, but is also perfect for shy learners because learners can choose how interactive they want to be. I never ask students to share pictures or sentences, unless they want to share. I am a very relaxed and easy-going teacher who enjoys having fun! This class is relaxed and does not require a prior knowledge of figurative language. Students are always welcome to interact with each other or the teacher. This is a fun way to learn simile, metaphor, onomatopoeia, oxymoron, personification, alliteration, idiom, hyperbole, etc.
