Lesson One: Students will make sure all supplies that are needed are within their reach. Students will follow the step by step demonstration shown by the teacher and raise their hand to ask for help or a question. The teacher will check in with the students after each step to make sure no one gets left behind. We will begin class by watching a music video called "Value" to learn about tints, shades, and the term monochromatic. Students will use the value worksheet to begin to test and mix our tints, using primary colors and white, in paint. Using their mixed paints and following the teacher's demonstration students will begin to create flowers using brush strokes in the monochromatic color scheme, building their flower petals layer by layer. At the end of the lesson students will be able to share the work that they have completed. Lesson Two: Students will make sure all supplies that are needed are within their reach. Students will follow the step by step demonstration shown by the teacher and raise their hand to ask for help or a question. The teacher will check in with the students after each step to make sure no one gets left behind. We will review the demonstrations from the class previous and continue working on our monochromatic color scheme flowers. Students will then create stems and leaves for their flowers. At the end of the lesson students will be able to share the work that they have completed.

***Value Worksheet (Printed before class) -1 Piece of Black Construction paper -Pencil -Eraser -Acrylic or Tempera Paint (must have red, blue, yellow, green, and white) -Paint Brush -Palette for Paint (if you have a plastic palette with mixing holes that is perfect! If not, you can make a simple palette by taking any plate and covering it with foil, smoothing the foil down well, or use a paper or styrofoam plate. ***we will be mixing 9 tints (3 for yellow, 3 for red, and 3 for blue). A large plate or 3 small plates will work for mixing. -Plastic Wrap or Press n Seal for covering your paints to save for the next class. -Cup or bowl with water -Paper towel for drying off paint brush.
