Step aside Lara Croft. These are the true tomb raiding vixens. Like all other sciences women have made valuable, though often over-looked, but long-lived contributions to the science of archaeology. In what has traditionally been a male dominated field, pioneering woman made a strong and lasting contribution to the study of the past. These brave, enterprising women plowed through obstacles to pave a path for future women and helped change the androcentic paradigms that plagued the early history of the discipline. In this class we will explore the story of these women and explore the contributions they made that helped to enrich the the field of archaeology.
