Ola!  Meu nome e Senhora Cristina!!    

Learners will gain a comprehensive knowledge of the European Portuguese language in a flexible interactive setting.  We will cover a higher level of vocabulary and hands on activities.

My teaching style is to combine visual aids and hands on activities to attend to the different learning abilities of all those in the class.
Not only will students learn basic vocabulary but there will also be an emphasis on French culture.  

Learners will complete and submit assignments, play games in the OutSchool classroom (via a Kahoot) or Jeopardy and practice their Portuguese with fellow classmates.   Each week there will be a question and answer section at the end of class. 

Items will build from week to week and we will begin each class answering questions in Portuguese from the week before. By the end of the course, learners will be speaking, reading and writing European Portuguese and be able to share details about themselves.

Week 1: Review of Portuguese I class and determine what level students are in the language.
Week 2: Em volta da cidade -Around the town/city/village
Week 3:  Verbos regulares  - Regular Verbs
Week 4: Profissões - Professions/Jobs Vocabulary and Class Project
Week 5:  Adjetivos, vocabulário e gramática - Adjectives & Grammar
Week 6: História e geografia de Portugal - Portuguese History and Geography
Week 7: Desportistas - Sports/Games Vocabulary and Class Project
Week 8: Write a short assignment of items learned. -Share writing assignments and provide feedback for improvement.
Week 9: Review and Kahoot or Jeopardy Game

Learners require previous language experience. Students will have the opportunity to work on worksheets during class and outside of class time for maximum retention.

 A letter grade can be provided, by request, at the end of the semester based on participation and completion of work.
