宿題:
I hope all students will practice what they learn in class at home with their families over meals. What a fun activity to engage in as a family. I tell my students that it is important to practice eating formally and informally at home so that when you find yourself in a formal dining situation, unexpectedly, that you will feel confident because you have already taken the time to practice social and business etiquette skills.

Hello, Welcome to "Etiquette and Manners for Youth: Table Manners Do's and Don'ts"
A return to traditional values has placed the word "etiquette" back in our vocabulary. For some, the idea of social civility and proper protocol may seem a bit old-fashioned for the fast-paced world where we live and do business, but forward-thinkers and the globally polished know that good manners always stand out. Moreover, they recognize that "good manners" are cultural.

I have taught this lesson to children from pre-school to middle school age and up. I have found that my students, young and old, are hungry for knowledge that teaches them how to be courteous and mannerly in school, home, and in social gatherings away from home. As a matter of fact, my middle school students wish they could eat in a formal environment for lunch each day instead of in the school cafeteria. Why? Because meal time is much more pleasant when you know the proper etiquette for both formal and informal dining. Meal time is relaxing and without anxiety when you are in the company of those who possess and use positive social skills. My students love how they feel when they are and their friends are using good manners, and the mannerly atmosphere created from well-practiced social etiquette. Etiquette enables care to be contagious.

Why practice these social skills at home in your own dining room? Because perfect practice builds mastery and mastery builds confidence.
Confidence replaces anxiety and builds a strong self-esteem.

In this class, we will cover:
- Table Place Settings
- Napkins & Handling Silverware
- Difficult to Eat Foods
- Do's & Don'ts of Graceful Dining
- Conversation skills

We will view examples of proper table etiquette through hands-on table-setting practice, short video clips, lecture, and small group discussion.

Children develop confidence and leadership skills through learning how to handle themselves in different social situations. This class will be fun and interactive with an emphasis on hands-on learning.

No experience or prior learning is necessary to take this course. You will love what you learn.

It is recommended that students have the materials suggested on the materials list, Notes worksheet, and a pencil to write with.
