This class is comprehensive, and students: 1. build confidence in their ability to write effectively. 2. learn to write an essay with an effective introduction, fully-elaborated body paragraphs, and a powerful conclusion. 3. learn to use correct grammar when writing. 4. learn to generate ideas, organize their thoughts, and to think when writing. 5. learn to use a process that strengthens their ideas, organization, word choice, sentence fluency, voice, and conventions. 6. learn to work independently, using resources and a reliance on their mastery of new skills.
Mrs. Lemons has a B.A. in English Literature, a minor in Education, and a Master's in Education Administration. She has her teaching certificate and principal's license, and she is certified to teach English / Language Arts and History / Social Studies. She has many years of experience at the middle and high school levels. Further, she is an adjunct faculty member at Colorado Christian University, supervising teaching candidates in their undergraduate and graduate programs. She is a teacher of teachers.
