Hello! I'm Miss. Paulina. I have experience: 1) successfully launching multiple multi-million dollar businesses, products, and services worldwide for big tech, 2) investing in and advising for multiple start-ups that have surpassed their annual revenue targets, and 3) teaching career, personal finance, and business classes to underrepresented groups. I bring all of this together to teach students entrepreneurship in a developing series focused entirely on how to build, launch, and scale a business. Welcome to the first course in this series!

Details:

🏆 What will be taught? This is the third class in an eight-class series where students will learn essential tools and skills to start them on their entrepreneurship journey.

🎯 What topics will be covered? In this third class, students will learn the first part of the Idea Assessment Framework. The Idea Assessment Framework teaches students how to tell a good idea from a bad idea using data across start-ups and use cases (i.e., real business examples). The Idea Assessment Framework is an essential tool for entrepreneurs to have as it ensures they are spending their time, money, and effort on the best possible idea. The framework is taught over two weeks to allow students to deeply learn each component.

🧩 How is your class structured and how will you teach? This class is taught with powerpoint slides that will introduce essential entrepreneurship concepts first in theory, then with a real life example (e.g., a case study of a real business), then practical tools and resources the student can use (e.g., how can you take this information and actually apply it to your business idea?).

👩🏻‍🏫 What is your teaching style? I believe in teaching simply and practically. My goal is for students to walk away with a foundational toolkit that they can actually use to build a business. I do this by: 1) using real life examples to help students contextualize information and 2) intentionally designing easy-to-use and easy-to-remember tools and resources.

🤝 How do you keep students engaged? There are two activities in this class. I ask the student to write down their initial understanding of a concept and real life examples of businesses they frequent. I display a timer on the screen to help students understand how much time they have to ideate. When the timer completes, I share some common answers I receive in live classes to expose self-paced students to different opinions and experiences. Finally, I finish the activity by sharing knowledge and details on the specific concept.

🎉 How much will learners get to interact with me? Students are invited to reach out to me via Outschool to ask questions about this class.

Hello! I am Mrs. Paulina and I help kids learn how to be an entrepreneur. I have over a decade of experience successfully launching new multi-million dollar businesses, products and services internationally within big tech. I have also advised for three businesses that are regularly achieving $1MM+ in annual sales. Lastly, I have over a decade of experience teaching kids of underrepresented communities entrepreneurship, how to have a career in tech, and financial literacy. I am passionate at helping the next generation of entrepreneurs find their inspiration and start their journey. I teach entrepreneurship from a lens of data, best practices within the business community, and personal experience. My goal is to give kids the skills to find innovation all around them, take the best steps possible to succeed on their journey to becoming an entrepreneur, and continuously learn from their experiences. Outside of Outschool and my full time career in big tech, you'll find me reading (non-fiction and scifi), traveling (next trip: Taiwan!), and trying out new hobbies (currently: bouldering and painting).
