✨Welcome to English Language Arts: Writing Clerihew Poetry! Welcome to our self-paced clerihew poetry class! In this prerecorded class, students will have the flexibility to learn at their own pace while exploring the fun world of clerihew poems. Through three engaging videos and three hands-on activities, they will learn about rhyme patterns, adjectives, and how to write their very own clerihew poem. By the end of this week, they'll have at least one original clerihew to share! This is a self-paced version of our popular live class. (Week 9, Third & Fourth Grade ELA) Here's what learners will experience: 🔹 Video 1: Discover the History of Clerihews Students will learn about the origins of clerihews and the poet, Edmund Clerihew Bentley, who created this humorous poetry form. 🔹 Activity 1: Understanding Rhyme Patterns Students will learn to identify rhyme patterns. 🔹 Video 2: The Power of Adjectives This video will teach students how adjectives add humor and life to their poems, helping them make their subjects colorful and fun. 🔹 Activity 2: Adjective Fun Students will complete a creative activity to help them understand adjectives. 🔹 Video 3: Writing Your Clerihew In this video, students will learn how to brainstorm character ideas, find rhyming words, and write a clerihew that is memorable and funny. 🔹 Activity 3: Write Your Clerihew The final activity gives students the opportunity to write their own clerihew poem using everything they’ve learned about rhyme, adjectives, and structure. By the end of the class, they will have at least one completed clerihew to share! If you have any questions about this class, please reach out. We look forward to meeting your learner soon!✨
