This class discusses emergency situations mainly weather events such as tornados and hurricanes and flooding. These devastating events can be traumatic to adolescents, but the goal of this class is to empower them and provide them with the knowledge and skills to prepare for such events in order to stay safe and help family and friends. I have screened all of my material to ensure it is age appropriate and will focus on the positive impact of preparation. I encourage collaboration with parents during all aspects of this class such as making a plan and building a supply kit. Parents should talk with students beforehand regarding the different types of emergency situations that may arise and impact a family and determine before enrolling students in this course if it is a good fit for their child emotionally and mentally. I will be glad to answer any questions you have in advance regarding this class just email me.
