In this weekly science class and nonfiction writing class students will learn about different types of animals and will work together to write an 'All About Animals' book with nonfiction text features like a table of contents, maps, diagrams, labels, pictures, captions, illustrations, bold print, and a glossary. Students will learn about the defining attributes of mammals, birds, reptiles, amphibians, fish, aquatic invertebrates, and insects. Students will also learn about nonfiction text features and how to include them into their own informational text about animals to record their learning.
