The student should arrive to our session with one math topic to work on in depth. Any elementary math topic can be worked on during this time. The session will begin with Lyndsay asking the student to explain the problem/topic they are working on. Lyndsay Capshaw has a B.A. in Human Development as well as a current Colorado Elementary Teaching License. She has over 20 years of professional experience working with children. Lyndsay is an excellent math teacher because at one point, she was a struggling mathematician. Lyndsay found out in college that she was dyslexic and had been reading math problems backwards. She had to work incredibly hard as adult to "re-learn" math, and she had a teacher in college who really helped her get the resources she needed. This created a passion within Lyndsay to help students realize they are good at math, they just might not have the tools they need yet. It also formed a love of math within her that students find inspirational and motivating.
