Students will create five unique short stories over the course of the class.
Students will understand foundational creative writing concepts, like structure, character, and editing.
Students will grow more confident in their ability to put their creative ideas down on paper.
Students will grow more understanding and forgiving of imperfections or room for improvement within their own writing.

I am the author of sixteen books for tweens and teens, including the 𝘗𝘪𝘱 𝘉𝘢𝘳𝘵𝘭𝘦𝘵𝘵'𝘴 𝘎𝘶𝘪𝘥𝘦 𝘵𝘰 𝘔𝘢𝘨𝘪𝘤𝘢𝘭 𝘊𝘳𝘦𝘢𝘵𝘶𝘳𝘦𝘴 series (Scholastic), the 𝘌𝘭𝘭𝘪𝘦, 𝘌𝘯𝘨𝘪𝘯𝘦𝘦𝘳 series (Bloomsbury), and the 𝘋𝘰𝘶𝘣𝘭𝘦𝘤𝘳𝘰𝘴𝘴 series (Bloomsbury). My books are published in twenty-three languages around the world, and have won multiple state and national awards. I have taught creative writing classes across the country at schools, libraries, colleges, and camps, and have taught over 5000 students here on Outschool!

詳細: Each week, students will be asked to work on a new short story based on that week's lesson. Students will post their story to the classroom at least twenty-four hours before the following week's class! If students do not post their work on time, we will be unable to discuss their work in class-- parents, please help me ensure your students have the best learning experience by encouraging them to post their work on time.
