Would you rather paint a picture of a shark or play a game? In this class, you can do both. This class is combines the creative exploration of painting with the fun of Would You Rather and fascinating shark facts. This interactive class is designed to engage learners in a dynamic and enjoyable environment while promoting creativity, critical thinking, and knowledge about sharks. Students will learn to draw and color different shark drawings during each class using various art elements. They will be encouraged to add their own creative details to each of the pictures. Skills will include creative expression, social skills, confidence building, fine motor skill enhancement, painting techniques, and most importantly fun and enjoyment. -The topics of conversation will be learner-directed but the main focus will be sharks.
I have taught in brick-and-mortar schools for 30 years. During this time, I have taught all academic areas as well as art and STEAM classes for grades K-5. I am a certified Special Education Teacher, Regular Education Teacher, and Media Specialist (School Librarian).
Canvas Acrylic paints (colors of their choice) Cup of water Paint brushes Something to cover their work surface A paint pallet (a paper plate will work for this) Paper towel Cup of water Younger children may need assistance with the opening the paints. Fun facts about sharks that they already know A smile
Students will guide some of the discussions. Some topics of conversation revolving around sharks may be scary for some children.
There will be no outside sources utilized for this class.
