We will be discussing the following questions/ topics according to the Austrian and Monetarist schools of economic theory. Students will be required to read the assigned articles/chapters and participate in open discussion during class time where we will discuss via a PowerPoint, the main concepts presented in the reading- I've inserted short video clips to help illustrate several of the principles which are introduced. This course is mixed content- the backbone is Whatever Happened to...
I've chosen to teach this class because I agree with Mark Twain, “I have never let schooling get in the way of my own education.” Much of my passion for history and economics has developed after my formal education when I’ve seen it applied to real life- this class offers learners the opportunity to expand their knowledge outside of a traditional textbook and open the door to understanding how the laws of economics have influenced their past and will continue to effect their future. I love Richard Maybury's ability to share economic principles in an easy to understand format and its applicability today for our upcoming generations of leaders! By adding the Power Point, current event articles and reflective application questions to these basic economic principles, I know visual learners will more easily understand and evaluate their place in our fluctuating economy and the role government plays in its success.
クラス登録時に 2 の学習素材が提供されますI will supply a course syllabus which outlines the reading schedule, online current event articles and content covered for each class. The book, "Whatever Happened to Penny Candy?" by Richard Maybury is the required text- apx $14/ Amazon.
