Beginner - Intermediate レベル向け
This is a Beginner Guitar Class in which each student will be taught at his / her own level and then in group playing. The class / learners will be following the required first book: Guitar for the Small Fry 1A, with additional exercises and print out songs to enhance and challenge the learner's playing technique. The learners first lesson will focus on the parts of the guitar, how to hold the guitar, names of the strings and at least five notes and possible the first song. Tuning the guitar: basic tuning if the guitar is out of tune. Book 1-A covers the first three strings - E string (E, F and G) B string (B, C and D) G string (G and A) Chords, C and G7 are taught in the book, but the students will learn: Am, Em, E, A, G, G7, C, D7! Book 1-B covers String D (D, E, F and F#) Chords (C, G7 and D7) and Eight Notes with picking exercies. This book comes with expanded Chord Chart. Book 1-C covers Strings A (A, B and C) E (E, F and G) Chords: (A7 and E7) Leger Lines, Time Signatures, Key Signatures and Flats. Basic strumming and picking will be introduced with one or two chords. There will be ample time for feedback either thru Music Theory or playing. In learning how music is written the student will learn basic Music Theory: The Music Staff, the lines and spaces of the Music Staff, The Treble Clef sign, measures, bar lines, double bar lines, repeat sign, time signatures, plus Notations: whole note, half note, dotted half note, quarter note, and quarter rest. Some of the songs that will be covered in the first book are: "Merrily We Rock Along", "Jingle Bells", and "Twinkle, Twinkle, Little Star." Preparation, discipline and respect is a must from all students.

Hi, and welcome to my page! I look forward to teaching your children: music, nature and / or photography! I believe that in observing nature you can also hear the sounds and trills of music with the rustling of the trees, trickling of water at a stream or bird bath and of course from all the trill's and calls of birds and the vast amount of insects as with the tymbals (drum-like organs) of the cicada's!
Before I list the classes that I teach, I would like to give a little insight of my Education and background. I have a Bachelor's Degree in Music Education - All Level and I have taught all levels, from Pre-K to 12th grade. I began my teaching as a Band Director specializing in Bb Clarinet and have taught and currently own a Flute, Recorder, Eb Alto Saxophone and Bb Clarinet. In 1999 I moved on to teaching Elementary Music where I continued to teach many of the instruments listed above with the addition of: piano, guitar, banjo, trumpet, violin and percussion.
Upon retiring from the same School District of 34 years I continued giving private lessons at my home to present. So, I am offering music classes that will include but not limited to: Recorder, Flute, Bb Clarinet, Eb Alto Saxophone, piano, violin, guitar, banjo and percussion. My love for nature, animals and photography has flourished since retirement and I will be offering similar subjects that would include but not limited to: backyard bird feeders, humming birds, fluttering butterflies and dragonflies, crawling insects and much more!!!
I believe that given the right opportunity, every child can learn, exceed and more important, have fun doing just that. If my students / learners, are not having fun and learning at the same time then I'm not succeeding to teach with passion. I do expect politeness, energy and respect from both the learner and myself.
About my teaching surroundings and other fun sounds!!!
At any given moment, you might hear a funny sound, a loud sound, a bell clinging or someone repeating what I say or play. I have two parrots in the next room that love music, repeat rhymic patterns, count to 3, keep the same steady beat and just start having a conversation!!! Keeping my birds and I company are my kitties!!!! Never a dull moment here at my studio!!!
