Please note: this is a FLEX class. There are no live meetings scheduled. Students are given access to instructional videos and complete their homework assignment at their own pace. Maps are an important part of playing Dungeons and Dragons, and it is the Dungeon Master’s responsibility to make any maps that will be needed during their game. While hastily scrawled maps are sufficient, a well-made, visually appealing map can provide an added level of immersion to players and Dungeon Master...
Students will learn how to use the Dungeondraft software. They will also learn basic principles of map design, including layout, balance, focal points, flow, and readability. They will also learn how maps can provide cultural and historical context and how they can enhance storytelling.

Students will need to purchase and install Dungeondraft which can be found at https://dungeondraft.net/ Dungeondraft costs $19.95 USD. Minimum Requirements OS: Windows 10 64-bit, MacOS, or Ubuntu Processor: Intel Core i3 2.6 GHz Graphics: Intel HD Graphics 6000 Memory: 4 GB RAM Storage: 200 MB available space Input: Mouse Students will also be shown where they may find and/or purchase additional map assets, but they are not needed to complete the class.
Some of the mapping assets include things like skeletons and blood, but students do not need to use those if they don't want to.
