Are you ready for an epic adventure? The Sword Coast in the land of Faerun is teeming with monsters, shrouded in mystery, and buzzing with rumors of dark magic. It’s a time for adventurers, a time for heroes—and you’re one of them! Join us in this 32-session social skills gaming class as we embark on thrilling quests inspired by the Dragon of Icespire Peak. Together, we’ll explore, strategize, and grow as a team!

📚The Adventure Schedule: While we attempt to stick to the posted syllabus/adventure schedule, player decisions will determine in twists and turns of the class (which is part of the fun). Students who sign up after the start date will be brought up to speed by the teacher upon sign up.

🎲 What to Expect

This class isn’t just about rolling dice and slaying dragons—it’s about building real-world skills in a fun and engaging way! Each session focuses on developing social skills, teamwork, and problem-solving while diving deep into an immersive fantasy world. Whether you're a seasoned player or brand new to tabletop games, there’s a place for you in this story.

🤝 Why Join This Adventure?

Team Building: Collaborate to overcome challenges and celebrate victories.

Social Skills Development: Practice turn-taking, communication, and conflict resolution in a low-pressure setting.

Creative Expression: Build unique characters and shape the story with your decisions.

Inclusivity: Designed to support diverse learners, including neurodivergent students.

Flexible Structure: Homeschool-friendly, with clear expectations and a focus on individual growth.

🏹 The Adventurer's Code

We strive for an inclusive and supportive environment where all players can thrive. This is a cooperative journey—every adventurer’s voice matters! Negative behavior that disrupts the experience will be addressed with care, but we prioritize creating a safe and welcoming space for all.

💡 Learning Through Adventure

Here’s how the class is tailored to enhance social and life skills:

Roleplaying Scenarios: Build empathy and decision-making skills by stepping into your character’s shoes.

Problem Solving: Face challenges that encourage out-of-the-box thinking.

Group Dynamics: Learn how to work as part of a team, navigate disagreements, and celebrate shared success.

Narrative Engagement: Develop storytelling abilities while connecting with peers.

🔮 Who Should Join?

This class is perfect for:

Neurodivergent students who thrive in creative, structured environments.

Homeschool families seeking interactive, skills-based learning.

D&D veterans eager to enhance their storytelling and team play.

Newcomers curious about RPGs and eager to learn.

Anyone who loves a good story and wants to grow as a person!

⏰ Important Note on Late Arrivals
Since each session builds on the group dynamic, late arrivals can disrupt the flow of the adventure. If a student arrives late, they may need to wait for a natural break in the session to join, or they might need to participate in the next class. Please communicate any scheduling or tech issues ahead of time to ensure smooth gameplay.

🏰 Adventure Awaits!
Over 32 sessions, players will explore the Sword Coast, uncover mysteries, and rise as heroes. With each dice roll, participants gain confidence, forge friendships, and develop skills they’ll use far beyond the tabletop.

Role-playing games offer a creative "sandbox" in which participants can engage in imaginative problem solving. Fantasy violence will not be directly depicted, but the possibilities of this within the game will be discussed. Students may wish to explore ideas related to their characters that involve in-game "weapons" and "spells" for the use of "in-game" violence.
受講に必要なもの
Students will need to come to the first session with a level one character. This character can be pregenerated or custom created. To keep things manageable, students are asked to limit their characters to races and classes found in the Player Handbook + One other resource. A link to pregenerated characters is included for student reference.
