In this ongoing drawing class we will focus on learning a different drawing technique each week and use them to make new and creative artworks! Aspiring artists will use the new technique to create an image in each lesson. In these lessons, aspiring artists will learn a wide variety of pencil shading techniques. We will practice drawing still life's, portraits, and landscapes using the various techniques as a reference. Students will learn how to correctly draw the dimensions of a realistic face, as well as draw more abstract portraits and caricatures. They will also learn about the Principles and Elements of Design and how to apply them in their own works of art.
Bachelor of Arts in Studio Art
Artists will need a sketchbook, as well as drawing materials like a set of artist pencils, eraser, kneadable eraser, sharpener, ruler and pencil crayons (colouring pencils). They may be required to have pastels - either oil or chalk - but these materials will be mentioned specifically in the lesson if they are needed the following week.
