In this Wings of Fire inspired Baby Dragon Drawing class, your artist will learn how to draw a Nightwing baby dragon step by step by using basic shapes and learning real drawing skills. We will draw a Hybrid, but I always encourage my learners to make the dragon their very own!

Younger artists are welcome to enroll in a flex course where they are able to work at their own pace and hit that pause button. This frees them up to do their best and not to be frustrated at trying to complete the dragon in our class time.

During this class, I will take your student step by step in creating this beloved Ice-Nightwing Hybrid Dragon. We love to draw these fascinating creatures and talk about their uniqueness! From building the shape of the dragon to adding the details, depth, shading, and texture!  Drawing dragons is a great way for your artist to draw what they love by learning the proper terms and techniques! 

Drawing is something you can practice continually and still find room for improvement. IF you’re looking to sharpen your skills, there are three areas you can focus on. The first is the construction or building of your subject; making construction sketches lightly on the page is an essential habit that saves time and produces consistency when drawing the same object in different poses. Another area is a simplification, or breaking things down into their most basic elements. Finally, focus on expressing volume and weight through highlights and shadows. Of course, it takes time and hard work to improve your drawing, but following these tips will help get you there!  Your artist will build confidence!

Recommended Supplies:
Smooth white paper 8 1/2 x 11
Graphite Pencils HB, 2B
Erasers - plastic (white) & Kneaded
Blending tools: Kleenex, stump, or Q-tip


*According to Outschool policy, all students need to be registered separately. If they are not, they are to be placed in the waiting room until the parent can make arrangements to register the extra learners or the teacher may refund them.  We understand the desire for friends or siblings to watch, but if two children are participating under one registration, they will be sent back to the waiting room per Outschool policy. One child per registration. It is acceptable for registered learners to share a screen!
