このクラスで学べること
Before we begin drawing, students can describe their costume (if they're planning to wear one for Halloween). This may help give us ideas! We then begin listing all the creatures and things we have to choose from. Once we have enough, I’ll demonstrate how to fold the paper and the simple steps for the game. Now it’s time get busy drawing. When complete, we let the mystery creature unfold! We’ll draw more creatures for the duration of the class using different combinations or trying new ones. At the end, we’ll choose our favourite and show it to the class as well. Students can vote on their overall favourite one. We can even play the same game using syllables in words to give the winning bizarre creature a name. Students can easily continue to play this game on their own or with a friend.

Learners will practise drawing skills within given limited parameters (ie: size of 1/3 of paper) and challenge their imaginations.

3-5 sheets of blank paper, ideally white 8.5 X 11 inches. Also pencil, pen or black felt pen.

I graduated from a Canadian Art College in Visual Communications, then worked as an illustrator for thirty years, doing mostly editorial and advertising commissions. I have done numerous, live drawing presentations for elementary age children at schools and libraries.
