Hello there! This is a lecture-based class that will start with introductions of learners joining in the class during the first 5 minutes. We will dive into learning how to draw an anime character. Learners may use any art medium they prefer (pencil, tablet, paint, etc). The teacher will use either a digital drawing program or pencil and paper. Learners are not required to use any programs or drawing devices. This class can be taken more than once as I will draw a different anime character with learners each week. During the class, the teacher will ask if anyone needs more time by showing a thumbs up. Learners have the option to draw their own original or fan art character in their own style and can change any part of their drawing if they like. For the majority of the class, mics will be on mute to focus on the steps of the drawing. Learners will have the opportunity to share their artwork and progress during the last 10 minutes of class. We will draw the head, eyes, hair, nose, mouth, shoulders, and outfit of an anime female character. Learners are welcome to color their drawing during the class time if they like. Learners may continue to add details, color, and clean up their drawing after class. Never rush a masterpiece! The teacher will only complete the sketch and line work with the learners during the class. This class can be taken more than once because the drawing will be different each time we meet with different eyes, nose, mouth, and hair. Facial expressions (happy, sad, angry, etc.) will also vary from class to class. Learner are welcome to join again if you enjoyed your first class with new and fresh creative ideas. Message me if there is a time and date you will like to have class (include the time zone please) if there are currently no sections available that fit your schedule. Hello! I am Teacher Amber! I am passionate about teaching young learners ages 3-7 to read and write and will center my Outschool classes on penmanship and phonological awareness like alliteration, rhyming, and blending words. I have experienced first hand as a long term Kindergarten permanent substitute how my students were all at different levels of reading and writing. I always found time to sit down and help them improve their writing and fluency skills. I have earned my Bachelor of Science degree in Interdisciplinary Studies, Teacher & Bilingual Education through the traditional teaching program from Texas A&M University from Kingsville, TX where I took courses on child development and the Foundations of Literacy Instruction. Through this program, I have been able to exchange ideas and teaching strategies with other teachers in the program and learn from others’ teaching philosophies while developing my own philosophy around progressivism.
I completed two semester long classroom observations for a kindergarten class and a 2nd grade class where I guided student-dictated reading prompts for students to write in their journals following a read aloud story. When I graduated, I received my Texas Educator Certificate in Core Subjects EC-6 in December 2017 allowing me to teach a variety of subjects to learners in early childhood through 6th grade. I hope I can transfer over to the Outschool online teaching platform the invaluable knowledge and skills I acquired over the years from my classroom experiences and education.
Something fun about me is that I love drawing! I remember when I was 9, I had uncovered the amazing world of anime and manga. It has opened my eyes to something new and exciting! My first anime I fell in love with was Inuyasha, followed by Sailor Moon, Dragon Ball Z, and Cased Closed. I always drew in my sketchbook any opportunity I could get. I joined my art clubs in middle and high school. I picked up a few more mediums along the way like painting and clay sculpting. I want to teach art like "How To" Drawings and paintings. I have had years of practice drawing and sketching since my childhood because of my fascination with anime and manga. That fascination has never died! I will love to teach children of different age ranges 4-8 and 9-13 depending on the complexity of the drawings. I want to incorporate my love for drawing into my teaching style.レビュー
