In this guided reading class children will be in a small group setting reading a fun chapter book about dragons. I will read a passage from the book and each student may read and discuss their thoughts and opinions about what might happen next. Students will be encouraged to support their peers while reading and there will be lots of cheering and high fives after each child reads. My teaching style is very relaxed and patient as the comfort of the students is my utmost goal. Another goal of the class is to build reading comprehension and fluency while reading. Children will practice phonics skills, vocabulary building, and gain confidence.
