The Disney Princesses take place in a place far, far away, in a time long, long ago... yet, Disney leaves us many clues as to where and when these stories actually take place. The problem is... Disney does a very poor job of showing us the clothes of those places, never mind all of the other fun details that make up historical stories! I have been teaching history through Disney Princesses for 5 years, and it's basically one of many ways you can decide to organize a survey history course. It's exciting to look at the types of people that many history classes don't look at: women.
