Do you remember when dinosaurs roamed the Earth?  Do you know what dinosaurs looked like?  What they ate?  Are you interested in learning more about these creatures that roamed the simple area where we live today?  

During this multi-day class students will learn about a different dinosaur each class; for a total of four (4).  They will learn what a dinosaur is, what their proper name is, what they ate, how they lived, their size in comparison to a human, and see multiple different pictures of the different dinosaurs.  The class will end on the last week talking about dinosaurs of today, fossils and what a paleontologist is.  During this class we will also be creating a craft to represent each of the different dinosaurs that we learn about.  

The class course will be: 
Class 1: Learn what a dinosaur is!  This week we will learn about T-Rex, and end with a craft of a T-Rex.
Class 2: Review the week prior shortly, then learn about Triceratops, ending with a craft of a Triceratops.  
Class 3: Review, Stegosaurus, ending with a craft of a Stegosaurus. 
Class 4: Review, Brontosaurus, Paleontologist, and fossils, end with a craft of a Brontosaurus.  

**If time remains in any of the classes we will also learn about the Diplodocus dinosaur.

Newspaper, old cloth, etc for painting to protect area

Students also may need a template, and sheet of paper, and coloring utensil depending on the weekly craft.

Welcome!  I live in Virginia with my two precious boys Ashton, and Carson and a beloved partner of 17 years; Jeremy.  I enjoy traveling, spending time with my kids, learning new things, and I especially enjoy teaching.  Teaching has always been a dream of mine and I continue to find different enlightening avenues to fulfill this dream.  

I have a Bachelor of Liberal Arts with a concentration in Elementary Education, Associates of Arts & Science, and a certificate in Surgical Technology.  

I am a licensed teacher and taught 2nd grade for three years and will be teaching third grade this coming year. 
 I have experience in teaching students to read, write, and math skills. 

I started my career as a CNA (Certified Nursing Assistant), I then received my certificate in Surgical Technology (CST) and worked in the operating room for 5 years.  Then I taught the clinical/lab portion of the Surgical Technology program at the community college level.   I worked for a short time in a daycare/preschool setting teaching ages 3-5, which lead me to becoming a Special Education Teacher Assistant in an elementary school, teaching children from kindergarten to fifth grade, this position pathed the way for my current job as a public educator.  I volunteered with the local Girl Scouts, for about 5 years, as a troop leader for girls ages 5-18.  

I am hoping to teach a diverse group of classes touching on different areas of my expertise and career paths.  I enjoy being in the classroom and working with all children, Outschool is just a different version of that classroom and I look forward to working with your child(ren) and enjoying a class(es) together here on Outschool.
