The student will gain a greater understanding of the time period through a variety of instructional techniques conducive to their learning style. 
The student will learn the value of historiography and its application towards a more robust, meaningful response to examination style questions. 
The student will gain a greater understanding of this time period from the extensive use of and analysis of primary sources. 

I am a certified (7-12) Social Studies teacher and have taught a variety of honors level courses (AS/A Level, KS3, GCSE, I.B. and A.P.) in both private and public schools over the past 30 years. Historical writing, source analysis, and exam preparation as well as an immersive approach to the study of history has made my classes both meaningful and enjoyable. My tutoring experience has spanned the entire 21st century with ACT, SAT, SSAT, ISEE, A.P. Histories, and Subject Tests.

This is a structured approach to this topic, thus reading assignments, note-taking, and independent practice is an integral part of this course of study. Students will be expected to log on prepared for the lesson and to be fully engaged in participation for the hour of instruction. "Homework" will be relevant and meaningful, aiming towards honing skills necessary for higher marks on future exams such as GCSE and AS/A Level.

Students will be asked to complete a series of source-based and other questions between sessions. With this work submitted in a timely manner, the instructor and student will review the marked work and discuss the comments provided. This will be a regular activity, stepped and measured, to enhance the student's potential in the subject area. Progress will be measured weekly as per session tutorials.
