In this interactive class, students will learn the foundation to start developing their cybersecurity skillset.  We will also dive into the different types of malicious attacks that cybersecurity professionals face. There will be hacktivities to help reinforce the concepts covered in class, along with challenges and puzzles.  I am available to answer any questions outside of class time if anyone needs additional help with any labs or challenges.

We will be exploring different cybersecurity areas to allow students to get familiar with the tools and processes used in this arena.  Students need to have access to a computer and the internet to work on the labs during class.  No prior experience in cybersecurity is required.

Week 1: Getting started – Getting familiar with personal cybersecurity and how to protect yourself from malicious actors. 
Week 2: Getting familiar with Linux with an interactive lab.
Week 3: Learn how to set up Kali Linux and how to think like an Ethical Hacker
Week 4: Getting familiar with Kali Linux with an interactive lab.
Week 5: Continue exploring Kali Linux with additional labs.
Week 6: Learn about how the top tools are used in cybersecurity and the different ways they aid in preventing attacks.
