Minecraft is an international sandbox game with creators from around the world. Their creation of Minecraft mobs and the unique biomes they live in will inspire Minecraft loving learners to explore emotions and use descriptive words, such as adjectives and adverbs, to create unique poetry using my custom format as a suggested guide. 

We will begin with a discussion, brainstorming ideas about Minecraft mobs and their potential emotions. We will define adjective and adverbs and their use as ways to add descriptive details. I will present my custom format line by line, offering learners time to creatively write as we go. Learners are welcome to follow their own muse as well and forego my format. Learners wishing to share their finished creations are invited, and not pressured, to do so. If they wish, learners are welcome to share in the chat or read their work/s out loud. If they wish, they can even type their poem into a book & quill in Minecraft and sign it! 

Spelling, grammar, conventions, and punctuation are not a focus of this class and there is not any expectation to display their creation visually unless they wish to on camera or in the chat. Learners can use my custom format to continue their Minecraft writing creations if desired beyond class time. I cannot wait to see what your Minecraft poet creates.
