This lesson provides several positive learning outcomes.  By focusing on one principle of design and creating a relevant art project each week, the learners are able to gain a deeper understanding of how the design principles are utilized in art as well as in life, and how together they provide beauty in art, as well as in our world around us.  Other learning outcomes include positive communication and critical thinking skills.  Group discussion during the presentation and activity promotes positive communication, as does sharing the artworks in the concluding discussion.  Additionally, the learners will utilize critical thinking skills by applying, analyzing and synthesizing their prior knowledge and experiences into the class discussion as well as into the artwork they create.
