Dear Young Wizard/Witch,

Congratulations! You have been accepted to one very special school of magic. 

In your first year, you will study the first of a series of books, all of which are considered crucial in becoming an exceptional member of the magical community. The book which will be studied is none other than Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone. All you will need is the book, though your energy and passion will most definitely earn you extra house points. Both students new to these books, as well as returning students, are welcome to join.

Given the rigorous nature of the Hogwarts curriculum, there will be weekly homework. However, passionate witches and wizards will not find this too challenging. Some of the activities you will engage in will include being sorted into one of the four houses, gaining points for your respective house, discussions with the professor on the text, and of course, developing lasting relationships with your fellow classmates. 

Below this acceptance letter, you will find a weekly breakdown of the chapters covered during each week of the course.
