In this multi-class camp, we will focus on Broadway Musicals! We'll focus on different musicals each day, starting with an overview of the plot line, characters and major songs. Participants will learn a song and dance from the day's musical as well as participate in character exploration and scene work from the show. The teaching artist will also speak to their own professional experience of performing in musicals. Slides and video clips will be included to illustrate various songs, dances...
Students will: - Gain a deeper understanding of Broadway musicals, including show specific choreography, music and stage acting in a supportive and inclusive environment. - Learn about the importance of props, sets and costumes and how they relate to an onstage performance.
Travelling Stage teachers are industry professionals with professional performing arts experience on stages across North America. Our artist educators are certified teachers with extensive experience teaching in schools and studios. Camp Broadway teachers also have extensive experience with musical theatre creation and performance. The Travelling Stage is well established in over 5000 schools and child care centres across Canada.
