このクラスで学べること
This class is taught by an Artist with a Fine Arts Degree, with a Focus in Ceramics. I am SO excited to teach what I've learned over the past 16 years working with clay! Only clay (any type) and a couple household items are needed to create these fun and Functional sculptures! This is an Ongoing Clay Hand-building Class, where we will be making a different sculpture each week! No previous experience is necessary- Students are welcome to join the club at any point. The Club structure allows learners to get together each week with familiar faces, in a supportive environment. I create each sculpture in advance, and then teach the class how to create their very own, step-by-step using simple shapes, in a social and engaging setting! It's all about having FUN while exercising our creativity! I like to give my students the 'Artistic freedom' to add their own spin on each piece we create. Students will be encouraged to show off their artwork during the class, and engage with questions and answers. This will allow learners to socialize about their Artwork, and receive thoughtful critiques. During this class, we will be discussing and practicing useful hand-building methods and techniques, such as slip and score, coil building, pinch pot creating, slab, and more. Students will be encouraged to paint their creations in the week following the class, if they choose to. (Acrylic paint is great for this) They will have the opportunity the following week to show off their finished piece. ***I use a second camera, so learners are able to see the in-progress and completed piece up close. **Please be sure your phone/tablet/laptop is in 'Gallery View' on Zoom in advance. If using a Chromebook, please be sure your device is capable of using 'Gallery View' in Zoom. Class Structure: This class will begin with a short introduction and meet and greet of the class. Students will then have the option to show off their painted projects from the week prior. Then we will dive in with that weeks creation! Here is what we will be creating each week! This list is updated annually. 1. Week of 4/4- 4/10: Set of 4 imprinted Coasters 2. Week of 4/11- 4/17: Clay Picture frame for Mother’s Day! Attendance Policy: The class will begin on time. In order to create a smooth class for my students, we will have to continue forward if a learner arrives late. All of my classes are recorded. If a learner arrives tardy to the class, I will encourage them to watch the recording after class to catch up on anything they may have missed. Because the subject matter will vary week to week, there will likely be an occasional class that finishes early. It is my goal to complete each designated Artwork during class each week. In the circumstance that we are unable to complete a piece in the allotted time, we will complete it the following week, before starting a new sculpture.

受講に必要なもの
-Any type of clay!- Students will need up to 1lb of clay/class (I will be using white Crayola Air Dry Clay- it can be found at Target, Amazon (also sold in bulk), or any craft store. It feels just like regular ceramic, it's affordable, paintable, and dries hard without the need of an oven or kiln) -Water cup, toothpick, butter knife, and piece of cardboard or paper plate to create on - If there is anything else needed for that weeks project, such as a ruler, marker cap, handless cup, straw, etc... I will post it in the classroom notes in advance
