Please note: learners as young as 7 or as old as 14 will enjoy this class topic. If your learner is outside the mentioned age range- but they would enjoy this class please join us. We will step inside the home of a Scandinavian family and learn what they eat, what the decorations are and the smells of the foods Norway and Sweden are two countries in the region of Scandinavia. There is also Denmark, Finland and Iceland that are considered Scandinavian. When is Santa Lucia Day and what is the festival of lights? Do we eat cookies or cake and if so what are they? We will have a quiz on what the learners already know about Scandinavia such as- do they shop at IKEA? Have they ever eaten Swedish meatballs and do they know what we call the little nome/elf in Swedish? Learners will be able to ask and answer questions and think about their own heritage. My teaching style in interactive and I like to encourage learners to share. No experience is needed.

Learners will step into a cultural and festive environment and learn about
some long traditions and be able to talk about what "traditions" their heritage
may have? Or if they don't know any traditions what could they create this year
with their family?

Our heritage is from Sweden and Norway so I am eager to share about our culture and
ancient heritage. We are also American and have made a special effort to carry on
