This literature rich class will playfully engage children in a fun story about a cat who makes one silly choice after another. 

Children will explore basic book handling skills, including covers, title, spine, title page, author, and illustrator. They will learn about the directionality of print (left to right, top to bottom) as they watch a fluent reader read the story while pointing to the text. 

Students will learn what a setting is, and be guided to identify various settings within the story. 

Children will develop their fine motor skills as they create their own cupcake craft.

The lesson ends with a basic writing response to the text that is heavily guided. 

This is a self-paced, one time class. It may take your child anywhere from 30-60 minutes to complete, as the video may need paused for your child to focus on creating one element of the craft at a time or to focus on writing. I will be more than happy to provide extra support in any of the areas taught and can be reached via messaging for the duration of the week your child takes this class. I strive to answer messages as soon as possible, but surely within 24 hours during the work week.
