Your student will learn about story arc, characters (both main and supporting), theatre and settings and how they impact the story we are trying to tell.  There is also a performance aspect which helps students struggling with Public Speaking.  

*This course directly relates to B.C. Ministry of Education’s Curricular Core Competencies for Arts Education Grades 4-12 exploring/creating, reasoning/reflecting, communicating/documenting, and connecting/expanding.
*This class applies to the curricular requirements for Applied Design, Skills, and Technologies 6 B.C. Grade 1-6 and directly relates to B.C. Curricular Competencies for ELA Grades 1-6 under Comprehend and connect (reading, listening, viewing) Create and communicate (writing, speaking, representing). 

🎲Instructor: Ms. Yvonne, BMus. McGill University.  Hi! I'm a Metis artist, musician and micro-farmer.  My experiences range from 10 years with IBM as a field tech to professional musician.  I am a songwriter and a homeschooling mum of two kids and my current obsession is board game design.  I believe that child-led project based learning is the key to engagement.  As an ND learner myself and a parent of an ND child, I believe connection and relationship are the first step in education.  PBL or Project Based Learning allows us to incorporate all sorts of learning in one fun bundle of exploration.

Students will need to do work outside class to complete each week.  Writing their plays can just be point form work or doodled notecards that allows for improvisation within a general framework.
